This is an easy and quick Marinara Sauce from scratch with rich, bright tomato flavor which will be ready in less than 30 minutes. It works best with pasta, lasagne, pizza, or simply a delicious dip. You decide!

1 tablespoon olive oil ½ teaspoon Italian spices 1 onion , medium, diced 1 garlic clove , minced ½ teaspoon salt Pinch of ground black pepper 2 tablespoon fresh basil , chopped ½ teaspoon sugar 1 (15 oz) can of crushed tomatoes
In a medium pan heat up oil, add onion, and cook until translucent. (4 minutes)
Add garlic, cook for 1 minute and follow with tomatoes, salt, pepper, spices, sugar.
Take the sauce to a boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 15 minutes with the lid on.
Stir in fresh basil and remove from heat.
The sauce is ready to be served with pasta, lasagne, pizza or as a dip!
Store in an airtight container in the fridge for 3 days. Up to 2 months in the freezer.
This recipe makes about 1 ½ cup of sauce.
