Hi Marann, yes there is no need to simmer it for so long. We are using ground meat which cooks very fast and doesn't need simmering (I only do it when cooking meatballs).

This recipe looks good. But simmering the sauce for just 10 minutes???
I always simmer my meat sauces for at least 2 hours!!!
