This vegan chocolate mousse is simple, completely dairy-free, and made out of avocados! It takes only 10 minutes to whip up and will look beautiful for a special occasion dinner.
Ideal for people who keep a Dairy-free, Gluten-free, Vegan, Paleo, Refined sugar-free and mostly Healthy diets.
Ingredients
- Typically a classical mousse will be made of egg whites, whipped cream and paired with chocolate, caramel, fruit, or other flavors.
- But this is not the case, as we are going to make a VEGAN chocolate mousse, and as with anything homemade vegan, we are going to use raw vegan ingredients and whip up the mousse in a matter of minutes.
- Even though this vegan chocolate mousse texture is creamy and light, and isn’t firm as a traditional mousse, it still tastes very good, if not better! Plus it's VEGAN!
Instructions
Halve and pit the avocados, and scoop them into a food processor or blender.
Add about 5 tablespoons of milk, other ingredients, except dried lavender, and blend until very smooth and creamy. Add more milk if needed. (Don't pour the milk at once, add it little by little as needed).
Taste if enough sweetness, add more agave syrup if needed.
Spoon into glasses and decorate with dried lavender. Vegan chocolate avocado mousse is ready to enjoy!
For a thicker consistency refrigerate overnight until well chilled.
Tips and Variations
You can make the following modifications:
- Only with avocado as a base - raw, wholesome, natural, and utterly decadent taste!
- Using only 5 avocados and 1 banana - the mousse will have a sweeter taste due to the banana.
- Using only vanilla extract (means without lavender extract) - more cleaner and lighter taste, and very delish!
Serving Suggestions
- Fresh berries for serving (YUM!) - raspberries, strawberries, blueberries
- To top up - Whipped cream or coconut cream
- With white or dark chocolate shavings
- Pair the chocolate mousse with plain biscuits, just spread a spoonful on top of the biscuit/cookie and enjoy!
Common Recipe Questions
Does vegan avocado chocolate mousse need to be refrigerated?
After blending all the ingredients you can serve it right away, but for better resultS, refrigerate it for few hours, especially if you used room temperature avocados. Keeping it in the fridge helps to preserve the light, fluffy texture of the mousse.
Keep this mousse refrigerated and in an airtight container, but no more than 2-3 days. You can also freeze it for up to a month.
