Honey Glazed Carrots in air fryer are without a doubt, one of the easiest and most tasty air fryer recipes to pair with an array of main dishes. Coat your carrot pieces in a mixture of honey, olive oil, rosemary, and salt and pepper, and let the air fryer do the rest of the work!
Serve with salty crumbled feta on top!
Our family loves healthy veggie recipes that actually taste delicious too. And veggies taste WAYYY better when roasted in air fryer.

Ingredients
My few comments on the ingredients + don't forget to read the Tips section!
The full recipe and ingredients can be found in the recipe card below this post.
- Carrots - I’ve used 1 pound of regular whole carrots that are trimmed and cut down to size. You could use baby carrots instead but then you may end up with smaller-sized carrots, some of which could get charred quickly and burn. Rainbow carrots are a pretty option for a special occasion!
- Oil - Use high-quality olive oil for combining with honey, salt and pepper, and rosemary. I’ve only used 1-2 tablespoons of oil but you can use more if needed. Other oil such as avocado oil can also be used to coat the root vegetables.
- Honey - The liquid form of honey is best for combining with the other ingredients in a large bowl. If you want to make this dish vegan friendly, use maple syrup instead.
- Rosemary - Reserve 3 stalks of fresh rosemary for the honey marinade and additional rosemary for air frying and garnish. Other fresh herbs such as fresh thyme can also be used.
- Salt - To taste. Kosher salt, fine sea salt, or table salt can be used. Sprinkle sea salt flakes on top of the cabbage once fried, delicious!
- Black Pepper - To taste. For a kick of heat, try some cayenne pepper or smoked paprika.
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer (or Ninja Foodi) to 375 degrees Fahrenheit according to manufacturer instructions (usually it’s 4-5 minutes).
Mine was 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 5 minutes - Cosori 5.8 quart
Wash the fresh carrots and pat them dry with paper towels.
Trim the ends (most of the very thin part should be cut off as it will simply get charred very quickly and burn), and cut the carrots in half.
(Large carrots in quarters, after air frying carrots will significantly reduce in size). Mine came up to about 4 inches long and ¾ inch thick strips.
In a larger mixing bowl toss the carrots in honey, oil, rosemary, salt, and pepper. Set aside for 15-30 minutes.
Once the air fryer is preheated, place carrots into the basket in a single layer.
Spray the basket lightly with a little oil or use air fryer basket liners.
Air fry for 12-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through a couple of times to ensure even frying.
I like to add 2-3 fresh rosemary stalks into the air fryer basket.
You’ll need to do this in 2-3 batches depending on the size of your air fryer basket.
It took me 2 batches with Cosori 5.8 quart although this may differ depending on the type of air fryer used such as a Philips air fryer or a 6-quart air fryer.
The roasted carrots will be crispy, golden brown and cooked through until softened inside but not very soft like when baking.
Add crumbled feta cheese and fresh rosemary stalks on top when serving.
Sweet and salty flavored carrots are best enjoyed as side dish or with dipping sauces.

Tips
- Baby carrots can be used in this recipe. Keep in mind that they will definitely cook in less time, shaving off about 5-7 minutes of the cooking time.
- Reduce the amount of oil used in this recipe. From my experience, the air fryer carrot fries do turn out crispier and more flavorful when using oil. Luckily, you can get away with using less oil when air frying food! Oil for frying - any neutral oil with high smoke point such as canola, peanut or avocado oil.
- I’ve found that most fried foods don't reheat well after some time in storage. If you do need to reheat leftover carrots, I recommend doing so the same day that they were made, reheating them in a preheated air fryer at 375F for about 3-5 minutes.
- To save some recipe prep time, cut your carrots up to 2 days prior to air frying them, storing them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
- I’m always in the habit of preheating my air fryer, as one does with an oven. If you don’t preheat the air fryer then you will need to add on some extra cooking time.
- Easily double this recipe if you are serving additional people. Depending on the size of your air fryer basket, you may need to cook the carrots in batches so that they aren’t overcrowded.
Freezing And Storing Instructions
- Store the air fryer carrots in an airtight container in the fridge for 1-2 days max.
- Reheat in air fryer at same temperature - 375 degrees Fahrenheit or in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Don’t add any more oil.
- Overall fried foods don’t reheat well, even if made in air fryer.
- Even though you're using way less oil than deep frying the flavor and texture are just not as crisp after reheating as they were once when freshly cooked. I don’t recommend freezing these either.
FAQs
The carrots should be fork-tender and crispy on the outside. If you overcook the carrots they can become mushy in texture.
Absolutely! If you don’t have an air fryer, there are different ways to cook your honey-glazed carrots such as in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 15 -17 minutes, turning them regularly so that they crisp up on all sides.
The texture of these air fryer carrots is fork tender with a slightly crispy outer edge, holding their shape without flopping over. It’s important to keep expectations in check when comparing your carrot fries to traditional potato fries.
Realistically, these air fryer carrots will never be as crispy and crunchy as starchy-rich potato fries but that doesn’t mean that they’re any less delicious!
This recipe includes a honey glaze that is not vegan-friendly. However, this can easily be rectified by using maple syrup instead - it’s that easy!
